Subject: Week 7 Recap
Note to players, there is a Thursday night game between the Lions and TB, ruling by the club is that ONLY the Thursday pick has to be in by Thursday 2:00pm. The early ruling was that all picks would be in by Thursday, but
a late appeal by Beezer (NY Daily News doesn't come out til Friday) has pushed off the rest of the games to the usual Friday 2:00pm deadline.
Week 7 Recap:
Talk of the club is all about Beezer "Autumn Coat-Tails". What once was the joke of the club is now the talk of the town. Players are really getting scared of Beezer's "riding coat-tails" strategy. In a press release this week, Beezer officially introduced his strategy and coined it the "East Coast Offense". Whatever the name, players are looking for ways to defend against it. Rumors have it that the platinum level members had a secret meeting in the club's keg cellar. Overheard from the meeting was talk of ways to sabotage the winning strategy. Luck Laru offered, "I say we put together a fund and buy all the Daily News from here to Hartford." Big Pop, Sr went on to say,"let's just get the Beez loaded on Thursday night so he doesn't have time to stop and get the Daily News on Friday morning." And the last platinum member, Zippy "No Tears" replied, "let's slip him an old Daily News so he has picks for the wrong games." We'll just have to wait and see how teams will defend against the Beez
Looks like Beezer has the confidence going, after a 5-1 showing at the 1's, Beezer said "I already can't wait to win AGAIN!" Beezer went on to take Week 7 with a spectacular 12-2 showing, hitting a season record 85.7%
> of his picks and getting back into the plus in the cash position. This leap-frogged Beezer into 1st place and has the competition chasing. What about Ms. Woods, another solid showing at 11-3, just 2 games off Beezer's ramped pace for the year. In an effort to get some more press, Ms. Woods came out with a controversial press release and then took no questions after stepping up to the podium. Ms. Woods statement had to be censored as she stated, "I'm going to win the whole f-in' thing!" We'll have to keep an eye on this FRISKY young philly and see what stunts she may pull next.
Hitting with 9-5, was platinum members Luck, Big Pop, and No Tears, and also the newly accepted bronze member, Bubba "2 Team". Luck Laru was able to break through his streak of 2 consecutive weeks of 7-7, but we're still waiting for LL to make some noise in the pool, this streaky handicapper has been lighting up the man for some time now and maybe only a matter of time before he makes his run. Zippy "No Tears" may have found his new good luck charm, the "Zippy Chippy" shirt, may not be the luckiest horse (maybe two losers together equals 1 winner), but it gave Zippy the momentum to continue his record streak of 3 consecutive weeks above 8 wins (Beezer also holds the record, also with 3 consecutive weeks) and kept him 1 back of Beezer in the year pool. Big Pop, Sr may have broken out of his funk and may be back on the road to recovery, reversing last week's quote saying "at least I was 9-5 in the pool when I don't win my big poppers"
Poor Bubba 2-team, only 3 back for the year, but still experiencing his initiation/hazing period into the Club. On a better note, Bubba has just signed a new book deal titled: "Pop or Be Popped: Putting All Your Eggs In One Basket" (as noted by the Pats tease and Pats straight up)
Coming in at 8-6, the two players who hold the record for consecutive weeks without more than 8 wins (both hold the record at 3 weeks) At the club poker game, Montross said, "it's a long season Zippy, you just have to continue to chip away, chip away". on behalf of Rock,Chairman of the Board Carrier, said "Mr Rocca continues to put ALL his effort towards becoming a silver level member, which in turn, has greatly affected his positioning in the pool" Looks like some things are more important to others, and Rock made the right decision.

For the first time, the pot is going up. Bubba and Ms. Woods (who had identical picks and has Zippy wondering) split the pool and get their cabbage back, the remaining $30 goes to the year end pool which now stands at $190.
I can't say it enough times -- what about Ms. Woods?? Solid back-to-back 11-3 performances has pushed her to the head of the pack, with a log-jam of members 1 back. Tension seems to be rising in the club as Ms. Woods continues to perform. Ms. Woods attended another press conference late last night after catch wind of some of the preseason comments made by some anonymous club members. Early comments such as "I'll take Ms. Woods donation every week" and "chicks don't know football" really got Ms. Woods heated up. Ms. Woods stepped up to the podium with a little bit of an evil smile and said "talk to me when I'm sipping pina coladas in Aruba with donations from a man's game." Once again, after a controversial statement, Ms. Woods left the podium without taking questions, being escorted to her limo by her bodyguard Brutus. Also coming in at 11-3, Bubba "No Tease" may have finally finished with his initiation into the club. Looks like Bubba may have changed his strategy and has put the "2 team tease" in the closet for a few weeks, it was a straight up bet that got Bubba back to even with the man this week, and his 11-3 showing has him in contention for the year end pool at 1 back.
At 9-5, Zippy continued his world record of "consecutive weeks above 8 wins" and pushed it to 4 consecutive weeks. This all occurred without even breaking out his new good luck charm, the "Zippy Chippy" shirt. A superstitious Zippy says "the shirt probably won't get washed til the end of the season, but that could all change if I get popped."
Poor Beez, his strategy just didn't work out the way he wanted it to, as an 8-6 showing dropped him into 2nd place. Beezer, in an effort to gain club member's respect, put in his picks before the daily news, and it showed, a respectable 8-6, but just didn't have the extra edge the NY Daily News gives him. Platinum member Luck Laru laughed as he said, "its ok beezer, we still love ya!", Esta big popper just kept on saying "poooooooooooop!" Also coming in at 8-6, Luck Laru, I just don't know what it is going to take to get this greyhound to run. But it looks like Ms. Woods controversial announcement may be just what LL needs. Watch for LL to make a run this week, Ms. Woods may have just let the "rabbit out of the gate (here's comes kernel)" in this situation.
A disappointing season for Esta Big Popper Sr. 3 out of 4 early season polls had the Big Pop ranked #1, since then he has fallen 12 games back from the lead. Must be the LCI (Loser's Club Illustrated) cover-jinx. After this young playboy was featured on the cover of LCI the magazine, things have just headed south. We're not counting this guy out, but he's got a long way to go. Rocca, also hitting at 7-7, has kept himself in contention without hitting for more then 8 wins in a week. At 8 back, Roxie is quietly staying in striking distance, you really have to watch out for those quiet poppers. Note: To all newsletter readers, there will be a 2 hour cocktail reception at 6pm Thursday, Club Library, in recognition of Roxie's first pop into the 3 digit negative.
Pulling up the rear, Montross, at 5-9, when is this guy going to realize that Chicago just isn't a good team. Montross pushed his world record of "most consecutive weeks without more then 8 victories" to 4 consecutive weeks (co-held with Roxie). Chairman of the board Esta Big Pop, has sent MM a letter stating "To keep the integrity of the Loser's Club, your gold level membership is now under review. You will be notified in the following weeks whether or not you will be downgraded to a silver level membership" Members applauded the letter, as some platinum members questioned how MM had gotten to the Gold level in the first place, some even saying MM may have paid off some of the application committee members. Montross just doesn't seem to be putting in the time and effort with his picks that the Club has come to expect. We'll have to keep an eye on MM.

We interrupt your regular programming.......................
"Hello, this is newsreporter Les "Potter" Copson, with a breaking story
from the prestigious Loser's Club. Controversy has hit the club once again, you can see and hear behind me the club members picketing outside and chanting "Hell No, She Doesn't Know, Hell No, She Doesn't Know". I'm getting something here from the studio, what's that Karen??
.............................The controversial story is that Club President Zippy has just granted Ms. Woods an honorary copper membership into the club. I'm told platinum member Zippy granted the honorary membership on the basis of "Ms. Woods' performance and continued drive for perfection, let me state though that this is not a full-membership, just an honorary status"
Platinum member Luck Laru, who is heading up the picket lines at the club, protested the membership on the basis that "Ms. Woods lacks the experience and the ADDICTION to action to be a true participating member." Montross chirped in with "rumors flying around the club are that the only reason Ms Woods received the honary status is because Ms. Woods has a little extacurricular activity going on with president Zippy." Constintino Rocca was furious stating, "It took me 2 years to finally gain acceptance into the club, today's events are a blow to club members and the club's reputation" This is Les Copson, I'll be tracking this situation as it evolves, now back to your regular programming -- "One Man's Struggle to Get Back to Even"
Week 9 Recap
When things heat up, they really heat up, Esta Big Pop swept the board this weekend by winning the pool, winning the office pool, and POPPING the man. Setting a world record with his 13-1 showing, the sleeping Giant may
be awake!
We mentioned last week, watch for a greyhound named Luck Laru in the 9th race, Laru was 1 off the lead at 12-2 and picked up some ground in the year end race at only 6 back, it looks like Ms. Woods statements have really fired up this puppy. And what about Bubba "2 Team", look at the chart on this guy, it just keeps on going up and up each week, as he becomes our 4th year end leader in 4 weeks. Looks like it could come down to the last week at this rapid pace. It's bringing up some tough memories for the platinum members as Bubba learns the lessons of the club. We've scene bubba learn his first lesson -- putting all your eggs in one basket. Now he is working on lesson 2 -- chicks and action don't mix. Since his marriage, Bubba has struggled to get into in the plus, let's give Bubba little prayer tonight that this isn't too long of lesson to learn.
Roxie broke his streak of consecutive weeks without more than 8 wins by hitting 11 out of 14. Roxie would personally like to thank everyone who attended the cocktail reception for him, it was a big success as he was able to recoup most of his losses this weekend. With 8 weeks to go, Roxie can't be counted out. The Beez felt more comfortable this week with the NY Daily news back in the saddle, getting back on track with a 11-3 showing. At 1 back, teams still are looking for a way to defend the East Coast Offense. Some teams may have to take on a partial East Coast Offense to stay competitive with "coat-tails"
Zippy pushed his world record of consecutive weeks above 8 wins to 5 weeks (Bubba 2 Team also streaking with 4) with a 10-4 showing. Zippy learned an "action" lesson AGAIN this week -- "never play with fire or you'll get burned" (just goes to show, even platinum members have to take refresher courses from time to time). Zippy is having nightmares of sitting on the "hot popper (Esta)" for 1 game this weekend, but he does say he'll be back for more. Looks like Miker Montross took the club's warning about his membership being under review to hit for 10 wins (also breaking his losing streak with Roxie) After jetting off to Florida this weekend, a rejuvanated Montross stated, "I now feel that I can focus all my energy towards proving my true belonging in the gold class (if Monty can't prove it, it looks like his brothers will be willing to help)"
The story of the day has to be Ms. Woods, hitting only 9 of 14. There were some loud cheers from the crowd when that score appeared on the ticker. There was also some jawing in the club's co-ed locker room between Luck Laru and Ms. Woods. Luck Laru went after Ms. Woods saying "you want to play a man's game and your going to get POPPED!!!" Ms. Woods surprised LL with a quote from Rounders saying "some guys take there shot and miss, but you have to have the balls to ante up again. Well I took my shot this week with some risky picks, but you'll see the size of MY balls in next weeks results" We going to have to keep an eye on this frisky young philly from Jersey, she just doesn't want to back down.

NY Daily News Headline for Tuesday, November 7th.
"EAST COAST OFFENSE IS BAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!!!!!!!"
Coach Beezer "Rain-Coat-Tails" has got his offense firing on all cylinders as we near the midpoint of our season. Beezer needed his rain coat last night to slow down the Vikings offense and take the pool with an "upset special" pick with Green Bay. When asked how he came up with the GB upset, Coat-Tails replied "I'd like to thank Phil Steal, The Mighty Quinn, Benjamin Lee and the rest of the sports reporters at the NY Daily News for their hard work, this dedicated team of consultants is well-worth the 50 cents I pay them every Friday morning." Beezer's consecutive 11-4 showing picked up a minimum of 2 games on the pack and put himself back on top. Player's are chirping on how to defend against the Beez. Zippy has recently hired a private consulting firm, RSI
"ReversalSports Inc" to look into some possible ways to slow down the beez. Luck Laru is looking into some high profile newspapers only sold at select newsstands around the country, but wonders if that information will be available by the Friday deadline. It looks like Coat-Tails is for real, and it looks like he's getting a little cocky, as this quote from an e-mail to our editor, it looks as if he started to rub it in as the game ended, as noted by the

"How many times do i have to win to still be called coat tails, i think my new name should be FRONT RUNNER."
I don't think members will need anymore incentive to go after the Beez this week!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Then there was the chasers, Bubba, Ms. Woods, and Roxie, all had a chance to catch Coat-Tails and thought they had a "Gimmie with Minnie". But we've reached the point of the season where weird things will start to happen. Both Bubba and Ms. Woods tied Zippy's world record of consecutive weeks above 8 wins at 5 weeks and we'll have to watch next week if one of these players can break it. Rumors are flying around the club as this was the second week this season that Ms. Woods and Bubba had identical picks, what kind of funny business is going on here?? Ms. Woods, in an effort to squash all rumors, has retained the services of Johnny Cochran and filed a complaint with the Pool Committee. In her 87 page complaint, Ms Woods claims "foul play" from Bubba, pointing to his late filing of picks and in one specific instance, where his total points had to be penciled in. Watch out boyz, this Jersey philly sure does like to make enemies. Ms. Woods is really going after Bubba when he is down too. Bubba is currently in the midst of the hardest lesson learned at the club, lesson #2, chicks and action don't mix. Another tough week for Bubba with the man, then bumped out of 1st by Beezer, and now we'll have to wait and see if the committee throws any sanctions at Bubba for Ms. Woods' complaint. Let's hope the committee goes easy on Bubbs. Roxie posted his second consecutive solid week in the pool and with the man, at 9 back, Roxie is still hanging around, stating,"when you have luck like mine, who needs to be in first place this early in the season." Roxie also has a new found hobby that he says can break any losing streak. Playing B-I-N-G-O on Thursday nights after a big losing week really helps Roxie get back on track. Platinum level members find it interesting that is the same night to pay the man after a losing week.
Hitting at 8-7, Esta "Big Pop" and Monty Montross. Big Popper was just happy with winning some big poppers after getting in the hole early this weekend and taking some cabbage from the man. Esta said of his weekend performance, "After watching last week's feature movie, "One Man's Struggle to Get Even", it was much, much easier to stay calm, not panic, and grind out a victory with the man. The movie was a true inspiration!" General Manager Monty Montross, at 17 back off the lead, has let his offensive coordinator go, looking to the future and possibly next season, Montross will be experimenting with some new offenses. Club member's were stunned that Montross didn't ride Chicago this week as they pulled off a major upset over Indy.
Disappointing weeks for Zippy and LL. Zippy's string of consecutive weeks above 8 wins was snapped at 5. Both LL and Zippy didn't put the time in this week, taking a day away from their preparation and hitting the links Friday afternoon. Don't expect these two competitive members to make that mistake again. At 5 and 9 games back respectively, both pony's are still in the hunt.

We've reached the midpoint of our season, let's have a quick look back. Zippy jumped out to a quick lead with 2 consecutive winning weeks, Beezer finally got the East Coast Offense rolling and was able to win 2 weeks in the pool. And now Big Popper, after faultering out of the gates, is trying to make a run with 2 winning weeks and only sitting 9 back with 6 weeks to go. Week 10 saw Bubb and Ms. Woods break Zippy's world record of 5 consecutive weeks above 8 wins. Beezer had a tough week with the East Cost offense as the he came in at 8-7 which gave Bubba 1st place.
We've reached the All-Star break and the fans have voted and here are your results and there current winning %.
1st Team 2nd Team
Quarterback - Beezer Coat-Tails 67.0% Quarterback - EstaBig Popper 59.0%
Tight End - Bubba Two Team 68.0% Tight End - Constintino Rocca 61.0%
Wide Receiver - Zippy No Tears 63.0% Wide Receiver - Monty Montross 52.0%
Field Goal Kicker - Ms. Woods 65.0% Running Back - Luck Laru 59.0%
As we've reached the All-Star break, LCSN's (Losers Club Sports Network) Sports Reporter Les "Bigg Dogg" Copson was able to sit down with each of the competitor's in an "Up Close" Session.
Esta Big Popper session: Les: "Well Esta, people thought you were a little cocky coming into the pool, do you think you still have a shot??" ----- "C'mon LesDog, the only way this would be fair is if I spotted everyone 10 games, I am the greatest, I will be in the running, I am the biggest popper of them all!! You've scene my explosiveness, taking 2 out of 3 weeks, here is where I buckle down and make my run! Oh yeah, I'd just like everyone to check out my cover picture in the new Play-Popper magazine, yes, I am the man!!!"
Zippy No Tears session: Les: "Well Zippy, you got off to a hot start and have remained in the running at 5 back, what is you're strategy going forward??" "Well Lester, I think that the competitors have overlooked an important part of the pool so far. I strongly believe that this pool could be decided in the last week and all-in-all, the total points will decide. I currently have a 10-11 point lead in total points vs. Ms. Woods, Bubba, & the Beez. I think I'm positioned perfectly to make a strong run at the year end pool, I"M GUARANTEE-ING A VICTORY!!"
Ms. Woods session: Les: "Is it tough being the only female??" ------ "What a joke of a question that is Lester, you men have no creativity. These guys in this pool are a bunch of wussies. All they do is tear and complain and lose. This will be the easiest pool I've ever won. I;m a Jersey girl at heart and if these so-called men want to bang heads, then LET'S BANG HEADS!!! I ain't going to take BEEEEP from nobody and if somebody wants to go, I'll give them a big kick in the BEEEEEP!!"
Bubba Two Team session: Les: "Bubba, I think we have to focus on the slump with the man, talk to me" ----- "Les, this has been the toughest time in my life, worse than puberty. It hit rock bottom when I broke down and told Zippy this weekend, that I "was done with action". But then I dug down deep and called in some action the next day like a true Club Member. And that's when it came clear, things turned around, 2 winners on Teasers, taking over 1st in the pool. I HAVE LEARNED LESSON #2!!!! Amen, Amen!! The lesson is: the moment you realize you're a loser, get through all the denial, then things truely turn around!! I said I wasn't going to cry on this show Lester, but you got me, you got me!!
Beezer Coat Tails session: Les: "Beezer, I have to go right after the controversy, is the East Coast Offense a legal play in the pool" ----- "Les, Les, Les, the East Coast Offense has broken none of the rules of the club, you can contest it, you can shoot it down, you can make fun of it, but when it comes down to it all, the East Coast Offense is a WINNER! You can't beat the information, the consultants, and the winning ways of the NY Daily News. You see controversy Les, I see the Year End pool in my back pocket!!"
Constintino Rocca session: Les "Very quiet year for you, otherwise known as the Italian Hitman, do you still have a shot??" ------ "Quiet is the best way to sneak up and get in close and pop 'em right in the back of the head, that is my strategy!!" Les, " OOOO-KKKK, uuhh, are we talking football or a knock-off job Roxie??" ------ "football??? oh yeah, football, I mean I plan to sneak up on the competition and grab the pool at the end." Les, "well, Roxie, I think we're going to have to cut this one short, good luck in the pool, I';m getting the hell out of here!"
Monty Montross session: Les: "Well Montross, what can you say, it's been a disappointing season, can you break down what has been your downfall??" Montross replied, "God-BEEP-it, this is bull-BEEP!! I've always respected your reporting Les, but you bring me on the show, and all you focus on is the BEEP season I'm having, Son-of-a-BEEP!! Do you think I need this BEEP right now. My season is in the BEEP-er right now and your just throwing
> it in my face. What kind of an BEEP-hole are you?? I'm getting the BEEP out of here!!" ----- "This is Les Copson reporting, a fired up General Manager Monty Montross has just stormed off the set in with an emotional outburst. It's been a rebuilding year for him and I think the losing is starting to get to him. Hopefully Montross will be able to salvage the second half of his season."
Luck Laru session: Les: "What has been the problem with getting on track??" ---- "BD, my heart just isn't in the game, sure I could spend countless hours reviewing film, gathering information, but I just lack the intensity right now. You saw how I cameback with a 12-2 showing when Ms Woods got me fired up. I have the talent, I just need some drive right now. I don't want to get too deep on you Lester, but I really need to take some time to figure out what I want in life, then and only then, will I be able to focus on getting back in the race! I've scheduled an off-site team meeting to continue some deep talk, hopefully that will give me the drive to make some noise in the 2nd half of the season"

NOTE TO ALL PLAYERS:
This weeks picks need to be in by Wednesday afternoon, due to the games on Thursday and the holiday Friday!
What a week!!!! Everyone was in the running on Monday (minus Ms. Woods). All official club members came through with 9-6 showings, with Bubba and LL splitting the pool on points. LL had to drop Bubbs the extra dollar due to Bubba's better home record. Bubba could be tough to catch this season, since learning lesson #2, Bubba has put together back to back + weeks with the man, split this weeks pool, and with Ms. Woods faultering this week, is now the sole world record holder with 7 consecutive weeks above 8 wins. A somewhat cocky "Two Team" was quoted saying, "I knew Ms. Woods would fade, and Coat-tails can only ride my coat-tails so long. All these players talk about is having their risk picks and trying to go against the pack. Let me tell the rest of the pack, RISK PICKS ARE A JOKE!!! There is only one strategy, FAVS, FAVS, FAVS. You don't see me looking for all the glory, just solid FAVS, FAVS, FAVS!!" Coverboy Esta Big Pop fired back with, "if you can't look good winning, then what's the point." Zippy also chimed in with, "yeah, Bubba's picks are easy, every week I just say to Bubba, all the favs again this week??"
Members are really starting to jab the leader and things will most likely heat up over the final 5 weeks. As things feel themselves out, it looks like we're going to have a 2 man race which could come down to the wire. Two Team and Coat-tails have been battling it out the past few weeks and I think your going to see some more conservative play by both competitors. With a few key injuries to the East Coast offense, a fired up Beezer went at Bubb's saying "how much more conservative can Two Team get?" Bubb's replied, "how are you going to win this week Coat-Tails, NY Daily news comes out on Friday, and picks have to be in by Wednesday ............... daa---daa----daaaaaaaa----- ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST!!!!!!!"
At 5 back, No Tears and Ms. Woods will have to start taking some chances if they want to get back in the race and still have a legitimate chance. What happened to Ms. Woods this week, a disappointing 7-8 showing cost her 2 games on the leader Bubba "Two Teams". I wonder if Ms. Woods heard the cheers in Beantown when they flashed her weekly record on the ticker in the clubhouse at the Loser's Club. A few club member's kept their manners and decided not to take any cheap shots at Ms. Woods via nasty e-mails. Ms. Woods, experiencing her first full losing slump, couldn't catch a break in the pool, and really got fired up at 1 o'clock when her risk pick "Cincinnati" went down as time expired. This slump could make the next few weeks tough on Zippy! We're really going to have to see how Ms Woods responds this week, another poor week and the season is over for this philly. Zippy has been unable to make up any ground over the past 2 weeks, saying, "Early in the season there was a large emphasis on offense, now teams have focused on defense and conservative play, I still feel with a few risk picks I can get right back into the game!"
We're still waiting for Roxie to make a move in either direction at 7 back, we thought this popper would have loaded up the old shotgun and start firing by now. Maybe Roxie has something up his sleeve, but this gun-happy popper better get a move on. At 9 back, Esta and LL are playing for pride and will most likely start taking some heavy risk picks in an effort to squeak out a few weeks and salvage a somewhat disappointing season. Esta went on to say,"Statistically I'm still in the race, it's a long shot, and our coordinators are now focusing on getting a few more wins in the pool and get out of this season in the plus." There have been rumors of some tension in Luck Laru's locker room, LL stated,"we're just focusing on 1 week at a time, it's been touch and go in the locker room a few times, hopefully pulling out a split in this weeks pool will ease the tension and we can make some noise in this upcoming week."
At a wopping 16 games back, things are actually looking up for Montross, after being issued a warning on his club
status, Monty has yet to go below 8 wins and has improved his record above 500%, Montross followed with,"this team has battle back, you can feel the excitement in the locker room, and guys are looking forward to the upcoming first round draft pick in the off season, and a championship run next season."

My, my, my, what 1 week can do to the standings. What looked like a 2 man show has now gotten interesting. A couple of big moves by Constantino Rocca, Luck Laru and Beezer "Coat-Tails". Things have really tightened up as 7 out of the 8 competitors have a realistic shot. The pot went to 225 on the tie this week and competitors are
jockeying for position as we head to the homestretch. 4 WEEKS TO GO AND ITS ANYBODY'S GAME IN MY BOOK!!!!!!!! And you know I keep a good book!
Luck Laru pulled out a squeaker on the total points to win $5 from Roxie, but more importantly, was able to pick up 2 games on the pack and keep himself in contention at 7 back. Lucky has put together back to back splits on the pool and was also able to shake out of a funk with the man this weekend. Looks like those off-site meetings have really helped LL's team, as he said, " I was up until all hours of the night watching films, reviewing defense's, offense's, special teams, we really put in an effort this week and it showed." LL also finally jumped on the
bandwagon and opened a Yahoo e-mail account. Feel free to bombard LL and fill up his inbox with all the razzing he has missed:
LLMLIGE@YAHOO.COM
Bubba "2 Team's" world record of 7 consecutive weeks above 8 wins was broken on a disappointing showing by the "G"-B Packers. Bubba dropped 1 back of Coat-Tails and may have to go against his "F-A-V Offense" otherwise known as Favorites Only, and look for some "risk picks" to try to pull even with Coat-tails. Bubba remains the last competitor without e-mail, sooner or later he has to convert over to the dark side. My guess for his e-mail: 2_TEAM@FAVS_ONLY.COM (Beezer, don't go and try e-mailing Bubba at this address)
Roxie had all cylinders rolling and jumped over Zippy into a tie for 3rd with Ms. Woods. When I talk to Roxie about the good week he replied, "some of the Big Boss's call me Roxie "Twinkle Toes". I'm not sure why, but I've said it before that I'm really good at sneaking up on people and popping them before they even know what's coming. I take them down 1 at a time and it looks like Ms. Woods will be next." Roxie is also quietly looking to challenge Bubba's world record as he has gone 5 consecutive weeks above 8 wins.
Beezer Coat-Tails got the East Coast Offense fired up enough to grab a 1 game lead in the year end pool with a big victory from the "Cats". Beezer went on to say "maybe my nickname should be the M-n-M's or Monday Night Master??" Coat-Tails has been able to pull out some big games on Monday nights to win pools and to regain the lead.
Esta Carrier was voted "Luckiest Man Alive" by the club members after posting the biggest comeback in club
history against the man this weekend. What size ke-honez does it take to put in a 100x parlay??? Drop by Esta's locker and have a quick talk (or look for that matter) if your interested.
Ms. Woods has been quiet, dropping 5 back of Beez. Ms Woods, who thrives on adversity, seems to have lost that spunk which had kept her in the race. It's crunchtime and Ms. Woods needs to throw a little fuel in the fire if she plans to be a contender.
Zippy squandered a golden opportunity to get back into the race as he just couldn't hit on his risk picks. At 6 back, Zippy stated, "you will continue see us press with risk picks to try to get back into the race, what is the difference between 2nd place and last place?? I'll tell you, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!! We will continue with the full court press and a high level of risk picks"
Montross continues to show promise for next season as he posted his 3rd consecutive week above 8 wins. Too bad this wasn't the Olympics and Monty could throw out that first week showing of 4-10. The offense has picked up for Monty and unless Monty comes up with a fluke 1st round draft pick, it looks like he'll retain his GM position throughout next season.
