2007 TankFest Tournament of
Champions
2007 Tournament Recap Trailing Bubba & Montross by 2 strokes with three holes to go, the 3 time Champs flipped the switch and went out with birdie-eagle-par to take down the Title by 2 strokes. With a birdie on 16 and a par by MM and Bubz, the pivotal point in the tourney was Hole #17. MM and Bubz were thinking par-par would at least secure a playoff putt-off after 18. But after a large scream by the defending Champs on 17, the concern started to creep in to the faces of the challengers. Upon reaching the green on 17, MM and Bubz were now once stroke behind and you could see the look of disbelief on their faces. LL and BD kept the pressure on by paring 18 and the challengers were unable to knock down a bird, leaving the defending champs as champions once again. Zip and Roxie battled as long as they could, staying with the Champs hole for hole on the front nine and overtaking them on 9 to get into the final foursome. Zip and Roxie ran out of gas and struggled on 16-17-18 to fall off the lead. BZ & Esta struggled mightily out of the gates, and if not for the first 6-7 holes, would have been right in the running, as they nearly played par golf from that point on. It was another great tourney, special thanks goes out to Roxie for once again holding the closing ceremonies. The TF Group instituted the 5 year rule at the voting session, giving LL and BD one last chance to take their place in history as the first team to be labeled "too much" for the competition. It was the year of the satchels, and many of the TF Group members wore theirs proudly all day long!! Esta captured closest to the pin, while BD unleashed a monster on 11 to take longest drive. Voting
