Welcome to the TankFest Invitational - Tournament of Champions --- can you believe it
was 6 yeas ago that the first tournament was played to celebrate BD’s visit from Abilene,
Te-jas? As we get older, these events are sure to get tougher to coordinate given our
busy schedules, but it is important to stay connected and make every effort to make
these the best events they can be. It’s a time for the boyz to get together and reflect on
the early days of the TF Group… the boozin’, gamblin’ and trash talkin’ glory days! We’re
scheduled for TFVII on Friday, September 15th, to once again battle to the finish!

Tourney VI turned out to be another great day! Defending champions LL & BD came in as
focused as they’ve ever been and walked away with their 2nd consecutive championship.
The champs posted the best round in the history of the TF Group and the first team to
finish sub-par. MM & Bubba gave their best shot, but couldn’t come up with the shots to
contend with the champs, finishing 3 strokes back. Hole #10 proved to be the “TP”
(turning point) as all teams ran into troubles except the Champs. Esta & Zip and BZer &
Roxie hung on as long as they could, but fell apart on the back nine. Both teams broke
the record for worst score (-10) since we changed the tournament format in 2003. Final
Standings of TFVI: LL/BD -2, MM/Bubba +1, DZ/Esta +11, BZer/Rock +15.

This year’s tournament field is quite possibly the strongest in history. No team has been
able to 3-peat in TankFest and LL & BD will have their work cut out for them. Currently,
no member of the TF Group has requested a vote on a 3 Year Maximum for Champions (a
topic that has been voted down 2 times already).

In the first pairing, BZer & MM will set the pace along with Esta & Rock. In the second
pairing, 2-time TF Champs Bubba & Zip will re-unite to try and knock off the defending 2-
time Champs LL & BD. We should see some heated battles and early predictions are that
this will be the first tournament ever to have the Champions decided AFTER 18 holes, with
OT played out on the putting green.

The tourney format remains a 2-man scramble, using a stroke-play format. Best team
score through 18 holes will determine the champion with all ties settled with a playoff on
the putting green. Final Draw results below. We will make every effort to re-shuffle the
teams at the turn depending on current scores at that time and speed of course play.
