A look at the competition from our analysts at LCSN (Losers Club Sports Network):

TEAM BD/LL

Les BD Copson: We haven’t been that impressed with BD’s play year-to-date, but when push comes to shove, we always know which BD will show up on 6-6.  BD is clearly the “Back 9 Specialist” but the recent knock on BD is that he has turned into a Le Bonnet type presser.  We just hope he remembers there is no pressing in TF when you get down – every hole and every stroke is equally important in this tourney.  This team is obviously still the favorite, but we expect this to be a very competitive tourney.

Larry “The Legend” Ligenza:  Although we’ve heard that LL has had a few rough rounds, he still comes into the Tourney as the top player on Tour at this point in the golf season.  Couple that with a solid partner and you can see why we have a team that is looking to win the Title for the 5th consecutive year.   The knock on LL this year – he seems to be more confident than ever and it is showing on the cyberwaves more so than we have seen in the past.   Is LL over-confident?  We’ll know in less than 48 hours!

TEAM BUBBA/MONTROSS

Bubba Barbarini:  They’ve been nicknamed this team “Grazing Cattle” this year and it is a tactic the first foursome could use their advantage to throw the Champs off their game.  Bubz seems to be striking the ball well so far this year and has been using preventative medicine to keep is back in “game shape”.  So far, this team has not been able to ham ‘n egg it up enough to take down the Championship in 2 prior tries.  We hate to say it will be luck that will bring this team a Championship, but they clearly need to get in sync on 6-6 to make a run.  Another intangible is will upcoming baby #2 in the Barbarini household weigh on Bubz game?

Montross Montessi:  Maybe now that Monty has a year of Cali under his belt, he’ll be able to settle down and focus on picking up his first TankFest title since 2001.  The expectations are very high for this team, as this is their 2nd consecutive tourney together and the 3rd time playing together since the TF Group’s inception.   The big question mark is how Monty will handle the recent break up of the Love Triangle.  Part of MM’s trip back to the East coast looks to be a re-kindling of that same Triangle and we wonder if he’ll be focused enough on TF to get the job done.

TEAM BZER/ZIP

Zip Zielinski: Zip has clearly tried to upgrade his game this year with an investement in his equipment, adding new technology to his bag in the form of “big red”, a new approach wedge and an upgrade in his ball selection.  The question is, does it all really matter??   Zip’s game is all about his confidence level – and it looks like his confidence is high going into the tourney – however, he’ll need to come out smoking hot to have a shot at this year’s Title.   Those first few holes will be a big indicator on whether Zip’s mental game is there.  More importantly, with an already sensitive psyche, will upcoming baby #1 make an already pressure Tourney too much for Zip to handle?

BZer Zielinski: BZer is due for a Title and we know he would like nothing better than to take down his nemesis TF members, LL and BD.  Like son like father, BZer’s chances also will rest solely on his ability to keep his head in the game – and this will clearly be on the most important point of the tourney – the back 9.   BZ has a tendency to let the beers get into his head and with just a few mis-hits, he tends to go into to “cheerleading” mode.  For this team to take down the Title, they’ll need 18 holes of teamwork, not one player and a coach.  It all comes down to the short game for this team, they get hot early, watch out – otherwise it could be a long day in the 2nd 4-some.

TEAM ROCK/ESTA

Esta Carrier:  We hear Esta’s got some new clubs in his bag, but the LCSN Analysts have been unable to get a sneek peek of how he is swinging the new sticks.  We believe an improved Roxie will be able to help this team get from tee-to-green, but they’ll need Esta to have his “A+” short game for these guys to make a run.  Never-say-never though, when Esta gets hot, he has the ability to chip and putt with the best on the TF tour.   The question is, does he have the mental game to keep the driver in the bag if his big slice comes out early in the day?

Roxie Rocca: Roxie’s stock is definitely on the rise just like the price of copper over the past year.  His continued hard work on his game is really starting to show.  After making it into the final foursome last year, Roxie is “thirsting” for more.  We applaud Roxie’s work effort and expect a strong showing from him on 6-6.  Roxie and Esta will have their work cut out for them, facing off against the Champs on the front 9.  Even though they are currently the highest odds on the board, they clearly will have an impact on the outcome of this tourney.
