2005 Tournament Recap
BD Copson and LL Ligenza played another solid TankFest and came away
with the same result, a 2nd consecutive TF-ToC championship. Since
switching to stroke play in 2003, it was the first time a team has
finished below par. Team Montross/Bubba and Team Esta/Zip were able
to keep pace through the turn (with Team Rock/BZer just a few strokes
back), but the defending champs took it to the competition on the back 9
as hole 10 proved to be the turning point (both Team MM/Bubba and Team
Zip/Esta ran into trouble). Final scores were
BD/LL and -2, Bubba/Montross put as much pressure as they could and
finished 3 strokes
back at +1. Zip/Esta and BZ/Rock lost focus and the brewskis took
over on the back nine, finishing up at +11 and +15, respectively. BZer captured
longest drive, while BD took closest to the pin for the 2nd consecutive
year.
