Poker Playoff IV

The TankFest Group helds its 4th annual Poker Playoff, $100/man, No Limit Texas Hold 'Em Tournament on January 18th, 2007, a farewell Major Championship to honor Montross Montessi, who is leaving us for the bright lights of sunny Los Angeles, California.

The tournament officially kicked off at 9:35 after a home-cooked pizza spread laid out beautifully by host Roxie.  It ended at 12:31 with Montross taking on Esta's all-in and claiming his first Poker Playoff Major and $650 in cash.

They say poker is a skill game, but getting the cards doesn't hurt either.  The "Riverman" started by hitting a 3 outer to knock out Zip with a straight, then flopped quad 6's to take out Bubz, caught running 10's on the flop and river to take out the BD (quote of the night - MM - "I know this is the worst call"), and finished off Esta when Esta's A-5 ran into Monty's A-J (and he hit trip Jacks to put an exclamation point on his title).  "All-in" all, Monty played well, earned his first Major since 2002 and a nice bit of cash to get him started in LA.

Members started with $1,250 in chips (Red=5 for $50, Blue=10 for $100, Green=25 for $100, Black=100 for $500 and Purple=500 for $500).  At the first break, BZ had already been eliminated and the unofficial chip counts looked like this:

5	Zip	1,065
