Article I – Identification, Objective and Location

     Section 1.01 – Identification
  • The name of the organization shall be The TankFest Group. The Group consists of the Founding Fathers and Active Members and currently does not take any applications for membership.
  •      Section 1.02 – Objective

  • The objective of the non-profit The TankFest Group shall be to host annual Major Championships, including TankFest - Tournament of Champions, Poker Playoff, March Madness and The NFL Challenge each year organized exclusively for drunkenness, trash talking and time together for the Ds.
  •      Section 1.03 – Location

  • The principal office and location of the organization shall be Schwagawam, MA.
  •      Section 1.04 – TF Chairman

  • The TankFest Group Chairman shall be appointed by the group. The Chairman’s term shall run until an election vote is requested at the Annual Vote.
  • Article II – Tournaments

         Section 2.01 – Location

  • The TankFest – Tournament of Champions will be held at Schawagam Country Club unless voted on by active competitors at the Annual Vote or the course is otherwise unavailable. Tournament location for the Poker Playoff will be based on a Special Vote from all active participants at least 48 hours in advance of the tournament or unless only 1 option is available.
  •      Section 2.02 – Tournament Dates

  • The following tournament schedule will be followed as closely as possible depending on member availability.

    A. March Madness will be held during the NCAA Men’s College Basketball Tournament in March and April.

    B. TankFest – Tournament of Champions shall be scheduled as a Friday event with the first scheduled date in June of the tournament year. All participants shall be given a minimum one-month notice of the initial tournament date. All subsequent reschedule dates will not be subject to any length of prior notice.
     
    C. NFL Challenge will be held during the NFL Regular Season and run throughout the playoffs with conclusion at the Super Bowl.

    D. Poker Playoff will generally be held in September/October entirely dependent on member availability.

  • Article III – Membership

         Section 3.01 – General Powers

  • The elected Tournament Chairperson shall run the tournament in conjunction with the tradition of the Major Tournaments, in a fair and acceptable manner. Participants will have their voice heard by the body at any time throughout the year or anytime during each tournament through the use of a Special Vote. In the instance of a tournament dispute, the majority of the players not involved shall decide the outcome. If there is no majority vote, the hole, week, pick, etc, will be thrown out and will not count towards the tournament scores.
  •      Section 3.02 – Quorum and Voting

  • All competitors with 1 year of membership shall have equal voting rights. All items must be voted on by the active (scheduled participant in upcoming tournament) body by each player or by proxy vote through e-mail or phone. Motions must earn majority of the vote to pass; otherwise motions must wait 1 year to be brought to the body to be voted on again.

    A. “Majority” will be defined as earning one vote greater than a tie of all non-abstaining voters. (ie, if one member abstains from a vote, then a majority will be earned with 4 votes rather than 5. 4-3-1 will be considered a majority)

    B. “Annual Vote” will be defined as the annual vote held prior to the TankFest Tournament of Champions. The Annual Vote will be used to vote on all Tier 1 issues which consist of changes to the By-Laws as well as any other Tier II issues presented by any member.

    C. “Special Vote” will be defined as a vote called at any time during the year. A special vote can only be used on Tier II issues such as Pool Designations, Course Selection if Schwagawam is closed, Tournament Dues, etc.
  •      Section 3.03 – Compensation

  • Compensation will consist of bragging rights for the duration of one year or until the next tournament. In the instance of the TF-ToC, the right to hold the TankFest Cup (name to be determined) will be the compensation.
  •      Section 3.04 – Vacancies

  • If any vacancies are open for an upcoming tournament, any member may submit a participant to fill that spot, which will then be voted on by the body using the Quorum and Voting rules in Section 3.02.
  •      Section 3.05 – Discrimination

  • Participants will be discriminated on by their color, sex, height, hair, swing, clothes, clubs, etc during the tournaments and throughout the entire off-season.

    Appendix A: March Madness Rules and Regulations

    Section 2.03A1 – General Rules and Regulations A. Entry Fee will be $20 per member. B. Scoring will be as follows: a. Round 1 – 1 point for win b. Sweet 16 – 3 points for win c. Elite 8 - 5 points for win d. Final Four – 7 points for win e. Championship Game – 9 points for win f. Champion – 11 points

    Appendix B: NFL Challenge Rules and Regulations

    Section 2.03B1 – General Rules and Regulations A. $20 entry fee per member for year end pott. B. $5 fee for each week. C. Two Weekly Scenarios: a. Scenario 1 - 1 Winner (on wins/losses only) - Winner collects $5 from each loser b. Scenario 2 – Tie i. 1 winner on total point basis (closest on Monday night football points) collects $5 from all players that were tied for 1st. ii. All losers pay the year end pot $5. D. Best total overall record takes 25% year end pott. E. Regular season tie breakers: PVS, then randomly pick a week and see who was better. F. Playoffs a. Top playoff record takes 75% year-end pott and championship. b. Tie breakers: Playoff PVS, Regular Season PVS, then randomly pick a week and see who was better.

    Section 2.03B2 – Definitions A. PVS (Points Variance Statistic) will be defined as the absolute value of total score in a game minus member’s points.

    Appendix C: Poker Playoff Rules and Regulations

    Section 2.03C1 – General Rules and Regulations A. $100 entry fee per member. B. No Limit Texas Hold ‘Em. C. Payout will be determined by number of players and by a Special Vote by all participants.

    Appendix D: TankFest – Tournament of Champions Rules and Regulations

    Section 2.03D1 – General Rules and Regulations A. Players must drink 4 beers per side to be in the running for the championship. You may not at any time help a partner finish his allotted beers. A team will be disqualified if each team member does not finish the minimum number of lagers. B. No “gimme’s” allowed. All holes must be putted out. C. Adjusting your lie is permitted anywhere on the golf course. D. A player who plays the wrong ball shall be assessed a two-stroke penalty and then play the correct ball. E. All mobile phones must be turned off from opening to closing ceremonies (no nan calls).

    Section 2.03D2 – Format The format will consist of a 2-man scramble based on “The Draw” detail in Section 2.03D3. The tournament will consist of stroke play format for the entire 18 holes with the teams re-shuffling at the turn so that the two leader teams are in the second foursome.

    Section 2.03D3 – The Draw The tournament draw will be held prior to the tournament with the defending champions staying together to defend their title. All other participants will be drawn at random from pools decided on by the body using the Chairman’s designated bracket layout. Any competitor wishing to switch the pools must notify the body for a Special Vote at least 48 hours in advance of the proposed draw date. In conjunction with Section 3.02, a majority vote must be earned to adjust the pools.

    Section 2.03D4 – Automatic Bids All players receive an automatic bid to the next tournament, but only the champions are secured an actual spot in the field. Other competitors are subject to availability on that date.

    Section 2.03D5 – Out of Bounds, Lost, or Unplayable A. A ball that is Out of Bounds, Lost, or Unplayable will incur a one stroke penalty B. Gentlemen’s rules apply and therefore the ball will be dropped at the point of entry

    Section 2.03D6 – Put-Off - All Ties will be Settled on the Practice Putting Surface A. Team Rotation I. Team order will be determined by flipping a tee among the team captains II. Team order will rotate for each additional playoff hole 1. 2 Team Playoff a. 1st playoff hole order: Team A, Team B b. 2nd playoff hole order: Team B, Team A c. And so on 2. 3 Teams or More Playoff a. 1st playoff hole order: Team A, Team B, Team C b. 2nd playoff hole order: Team C, Team A, Team B c. 3rd playoff hole order: Team B, Team C, Team A d. And so on B. Player Order I. A team may choose their order of play for each playoff round II. A team’s order must be stated prior to the start of the upcoming round or the previous round’s order must be used. Prior to the first putt, the captain of the first team to putt must state the rotation, followed by the next team’s rotation. C. The Length of the Putt I. Once a suitable hole is selected on the putting surface, it shall be used for each additional playoff round unless otherwise unavailable II. The first round shall start with an approximately 10ft putt, which increases in increments of 2ft on each additional playoff round until reaching the edge of the green. At that time, the putt will decrease by 2ft on each additional playoff round until reaching the 10ft mark. At this time process would start over until the playoff is finished. D. The Putt-Off I. Player 1 of each team will start the Putt-off as determined by the Team Rotation Rules. After this stroke the player furthest from the hole will hit next. II. Once each Player 1 has finished, Player 2 from each team will continue the Putt-Off under the rules stated in Section D-I. E. Scoring I. A team’s score will consist of the combined total of each player’s score in a given round II. Ties 1. 2 Team Playoff a. A 2 Team Playoff tie results in an additional playoff round using the conditions stated in The Length of the Putt Section 2. 3 Teams or More Playoff a. If 1 team has a score higher than the two teams which tie, that team shall be eliminated from the playoff (ie, there is no “two tie-all tie rule”, instead YOU’RE OUT!)

    Section 2.03D7 – Care of the Course A. Before leaving a bunker, a player should carefully fill up and smooth over all holes and footprints. B. Replace divots, repair ball marks and damage made by spikes. C. Local notices regulating the movement of golf carts should be strictly observed.

    Section 2.03D8 – Etiquette A. Don't move, talk or stand close to a player making a stroke. B. Don't play until the group in front is out of the way. C. Always play without delay. Leave the putting green as soon as all players in your group have holed out. D. Don't step on the line of another player's putt. E. Replace the flagstick carefully.
